Young Carers

… I look after someone

South and Vale Young Carers is here to help:

  • Time out from your caring role through trips and activities
  • Opportunities to meet other young carers
  • Help to get extra support at school, if needed
  • Someone to talk to in confidence
  • Information and advice about how you and your family can get practical or financial help

Whatever you do to help care in the family you are a young person to, there maybe times when you need extra help or support.

  • You maybe finding it difficult to juggle your responsibilities at home with the pressures and demands of school life
  • It maybe difficult for you to relax and have fun
  • You may find it embarrassing or hard to talk to friends about how you feel or worry about being teased

South and Vale Young Carers offers a range of trips for young carers specifically for 8 to 13 year and 13 to 18 year olds. Trips are free for young carers to attend.

Young Carers booking onto a trip will each be visited by our Project Worker in advance of the trip to chat through their needs and caring role.

Normally one trip is arranged each month.

Recent trips included a great day out at Cadbury’s World, a day at Cotswold Wildlife Park, near Burford and outdoor laser quest at Culham, near Abingdon. Details of our forthcoming trips for young carers are available from  South and Vale Young Carers on 01235 838 554
